Kristen Henry

Executive Director

Kristen Henry joined APSI in July 2017 as the Executive Director. Kristen is an attorney with a background in advocacy for people with disabilities, including guardianship, civil rights, and Medicaid. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The Ohio State University and her Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Joe Schoenstein

Director of Finance

Joe Schoenstein is the Director of Finance for APSI, joining the organization in November, 2016. Joe previously was Vice President-General Manager for Bright House Networks and Vice President-Finance for Time Warner Cable in Bakersfield, California. He earned an MBA from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an Accounting major, from The Ohio State University. Joe has served on the board for several non-profits, including Community Action Partnership of Kern and Goodwill Industries of South Central California.

Jerilyn George

Chief Program Officer

Jerilyn George joined APSI in January 2016 as the chief program officer. Jerilyn brings over 20 years of experience serving people with developmental disabilities, including working for private nonprofit agencies delivering waiver services, two county boards of developmental disabilities, and Northeast Ohio Network (a government council serving county boards of developmental disabilities). Jerilyn has a Master of Science in business management and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Spanish. She provides passion and commitment to the services she delivers and believes the changes in the field of developmental disabilities are an opportunity for new paths to better outcomes.

Angela Gerding

Deputy Program Officer

Angela Gerding is the Deputy Program Officer for Advocacy and Protective Services Inc. (APSI). She joined APSI in 2004 working first as a Protective Services Representative and next as a Regional Program Director. Angela became Program Enrichment Director in April of 2013 and began her work as Deputy Program Officer for APSI in June of 2016. She has worked in the Social Services field for more than 15 years. Angela began her career working for Jobs and Family Services at the county level in the area of eligibility determination. She went on to work as a Case Manager for a Community Mental Health Agency and from there began her work at APSI. Angela has a BA from Bluffton College in Sociology.
